Doubly (reviewed here) just announced that they have increased their maximum investment limit from 100 BTC to 350 BTC. There are similar increases for other cryptocurrencies. Doubly claims that customers have complained that the old limits were too low. Well, given that one BitCoin is now worth around $3,500, the old limit would have been around $350,000. The new limit will be around $1,225,000! We like the Doubly program. However, it is hard to believe that any investor would have complained that $350,000 is too low. If, indeed, it was, they could have simply made two or more deposits. Now the maximum is over a million dollars. We always recommend that a person not invest more that a few thousand dollars in ANY online investment program. These new investment limits from Doubly are way off the chart. The exception to our recommendation would, of course, be the company that can verify both their existence and their performance as an investment vehicle. It should be able to provide the same level of verification we would expect from a company whose stock we might be thinking of purchasing or from a bank where we might be thinking of making a time deposit. You will have to be the judge as to whether or not you feel that Doubly can provide this level of verification.
