Use 2FA!
BitAeon (reviewed here) just published a warning about hacking and phishing attempts being made on the accounts of its members and made a number of recommendations concerning how you can counter them or avoid them in the first place. These recommendations don’t apply to only the BitAeon website, they apply to almost any online investment program that you might be involved with. So, please heed the advice given in their warning that I have reprinted below. Most of it is common sense. However, it’s easy to get careless and think that “it won’t happen to me” and then, one day, you realize that your account has been hacked and you have lost everything. Please read what follows very carefully…
Security is a Priority
Recently we have observed an increased amount of hacking/phishing attempts towards our members. Security has always been one of our top priorities and we have done a lot to make sure your data is secured and encrypted.
With that said, no matter how secure we make our site you (the client) must make sure to choose a secure password and ensure that your login details are safe. If you have the most secure doors in the whole world, they are useless if you give out your keys to strangers.
That is why we always urge our clients to enable 2FA and update your password and PIN regularly. At this point there are many copycat sites that end with different domain extensions (such as .site .pro .icu etc). They pretend to be BitAeon and steal your login details. We never ask for your PIN during login! This is one of the key signs that the site is malicious.
Once again, to prevent anyone from accessing your account (even if your login details are compromised) enable 2FA. We suggest using Google Authenticator: https://play.google.com
And make sure you are accessing the correct domain www.bitaeon.io – save this domain in your bookmarks and try avoiding “Googling” the site as this may result in showing the malicious sites as some of the results. At this time this is our only official domain name!
In addition, there are many scammers who are posting on our Telegram chats and pretending to be associated with us. We do our best to ban and report them immediately, but not always we can do it instantly. In future, always remember that the official news/announcements are only posted from our Telegram account with username: @BitAeon
Ending this report on a more positive note, we are one tiny step away from a 90 day milestone. Thank you all for your continuous support and we promise to keep working even harder in order to deliver you the best investment experience online.
Be smart and be safe!
