First Thoughts on Biostry.
A few days ago, Biostry began a “Silver” listing on the Emily News monitor. Biostry has been online for nearly a month and has close to 2,000 registered “partners” (although all of these are probably not investors). There is a lot of information in the website about the company’s activities. Unfortunately, it really isn’t very clear. An example is the following statement taken from the FAQ. Biostry is a “leading trading organization in the field of Biotechnology, Research, and Innovation. It’s an organization that is currently assisting thousands of big and small companies worldwide in matters of expertise, patent authentication, and pooling better investment activities.” All of this is apparently under the umbrella of a corporation that only came in existence in May of this year and that only has a single officer (the sole director) who is also the sole share holder. He must be a superman to handle interactions with hundreds (thousands?) of companies. Is this really possible?
Biostry offers a single investment plan for folks that are interested in the company. It’s very simple to understand and is a perpetual plan that pays you 2.8% interest per day (on work days). For those of you that came in late, a “perpetual” investment plan is just what the name implies. You make an initial investment and it keeps on earning you interest — forever. I guess this is somewhat like a bank savings account only the interest rate is a LOT higher. However, unlike a bank account, your investment is never returned to you; you must earn it back as a part of the interest that you receive. This is a more than fair arrangement — assuming the company is around long enough for you to break even.
