This program has stopped PAYING! Do not invest there!
Ethtrade apparently was launched in April of 2016. Records of investment earnings published on their website indicate earnings beginning in August of 2016. So, Ethtrade has been in operation for quite some time. Optimistically, this could be an indication that Ethtrade will be one of those rare HYIPs that will be a long-lived success.
This Review will only cover part of the information that is available on the Ethtrade website. Primarily, I would like to say a few words about what the company is involved with, as well as the investment programs the company offers. I will finish the Review within the next few days.
According to the Ethtrade website, “We’re an ambitious team of highly skilled professionals. Our goal is promotion and popularization by any means to grow the Ethereum platform and community, a new generation of crypto-enthusiasts. We set up our trading company, Ethtrade, to participate in exchange processes, attracting and managing investment assets, as well as making profits off of the volatility of Ethereum and increasing amount of users. Traders of our company operate with the currency pairs ether/btc and ether/usd, offering an increase in your initial investment… We only use the most experienced asset managers, vetted professional traders and release detailed financial reports on the status of your assets.”
So, like Bitcoin, Ethereum is another cryptocurrency. However, unlike Bitcoin, it has capabilities far beyond the specific application of a cryptocurrency. It has been said that “what Bitcoin does for payments, Ethereum does for anything that can be programmed.” In general, the idea is that Ethereum can create internet services that will restore control of personal data and funds to users. For example, you are at risk every time you upload a photo to Facebook or a document to Dropbox or an email to Yahoo. Just as Bitcoin makes financial transactions private, the idea is that Ethereum can make other transfers of data on the internet private as well.
So, Ethtrade is also quite different from the typical HYIP. It deals with real technology and appears to have real people running the show. By means of the Ethtrade website, the investor also has access to at least two professionally written PDF documents dealing with Ethereum and Ethtrade. One, entitled, Build your Future with Ethereum, is a description of how the Ethtrade investment system works. The other, entitled, Understanding Ethereum, is a more technical description of how the Ethereum platform works. Most of the second document, I will confess, is beyond the understanding of this reviewer. It is for computer geeks only! However, the point is that a lot of work has been put into producing this material. For the potential investor, this is a good indication that Ethtrade intends to be around for a long time.
On to the Ethtrade investment programs…
There are two of them. The “Standard” program has a minimum investment of $10 and a maximum of $30,000. The “Top-Trade” program has a minimum of $5,000 and a maximum of $100,000. It appears that the Top-Trade program was only activated this week. Because the investment levels are probably beyond the capabilities of most readers of EmilyNews and because this program doesn’t yet have a track record, I will concentrate on the Standard program. If, perchance, you are one of our big spenders who is able to afford the Top-Trade program, please go to the Ethtrade website for further information. If you digest how the Standard program works, you will have no trouble understanding the Top-Trade program.
Ethtrade pays between 15% and 25% per month. The website posts accrual of earnings on a daily basis as well as the running total for the month in question. Data from past months are available too. For example, the earnings for Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, and Dec of 2016 were 18.76, 17.90, 15.44, 15.74, and 12.49 percents. It looks like December didn’t quite reach the published objective of 15%. However, this is probably forgivable given the influence of the holiday season. Interest is only paid on trading days — five days per week.
OK, now how long will it take you to start making money with Ethtrade? Let’s assume that you only earned an average of 15% per month. In that case, it would take you the better part of 7 months to recover your investment. So, compared to many other HYIPs, this is a long term investment program. Of course, if the average interest per month is higher, you would break even sooner. For example, if you earned an average of 20% per month, you would break even in only five months or, at the unlikely full interest rate of 25%, you would break even in only four months. Based on the performance of Ethtrade so far, you can probably expect to break even in a half year — in six months or so. That might be a good figure for guesstimating.
Ethtrade recommends that you leave your investment alone for at least 60 days. That’s 12 weeks or around three months. However, you can withdraw your profits (the minimum withdrawal is $10). You can also withdraw your principle before the 60 days (I don’t know why you would want to do that unless you get nervous about leaving your money with Ethtrade), but there will be a penalty. Before 30 days, the penalty is 30%. Between 30 and 60 days you can withdraw up to 30% of your principle with no penalty, 30% to 50% with a 10% penalty, and 50% to 100% with a 15% penalty. The penalties are fairly severe. It is far better to think carefully before making an investment and only to withdraw principle in an emergency situation.
Ethtrade has an unusually profitable referral program. I’ll cover that and other features of this rather unique HYIP in Part 2 of this Review which I hope to have in your hands tomorrow, Please stay tuned…
