Bittera – Review Part 1

The Bittera Investment Plans.

We recently published a “First Thoughts” article about Bittera.  In it we summarized the company’s investment plans in the following way:

Bittera’s niche is trading on both the forex and crypto currency markets.  They claim to have a team of “proficient professionals” who are knowledgeable about those markets and who are responsible for the generation of the funds that are used to pay returns to their online investors.  For these investors, Biterra offers three investment opportunities.  They all pay interest on a daily basis and return a person’s investment as part of his earnings (the best type of online investment plan!).  Daily interest rates vary from 3.5% for their 40-day plan to 7.5% for their 20-day plan.  Minimum investments required to take advantage of all the plans are within the range that all serious investors should be able to take advantage of.  A quick calculation tells me that net profits from the investment plans are satisfactory.  For the 3.5% plan, they are modest (by HYIP standards) and, for the 7.5% plan, they are quite lucrative (but not out of sight!).  We’ll put numbers on all this when we review the Bittera investment program within the next day or two.  Please stand by…

The website provides additional information about each of the Bittera investment plans.  I’m going to repeat that below:

Plan #1
3.5% daily for 40 days
.005 – .02499 BTC

Plan #2
5.5% daily for 26 days
.025001 – .07499 BTC

Plan #3
7.5% daily for 20 days
.075001 – 25 BTC

Assuming that one BTC equals around $4,000, the minimum investments for each of the three investment plans translate to:

Plan                       Minimum Investment

#1                           $20
#2                           $100
#3                           $300

I still don’t think too well in BitCoin…

Analysis of the Bittera Investment Plans.

Let’s begin our analysis of the Bittera investment plans by determining how long it takes each of them to break even.  This is easy to do as all you have to do is divide 100% by the gross daily interest that a plan pays.  For Plan #1, you divide 100% by 3.5% to get that the plan breaks even in around 29 days.  Doing the same arithmetic for the other two plans, you get the following:

Plan                       Break Even

#1                           29 days
#2                           19 days
#3                           14 days

Next, let’s determine the average daily profit (net interest) that you earn from each of the investment plans.  It’s always important to distinguish between gross and net profit.  Gross profit (or interest) includes your investment that is being returned to you.  Net profit (or interest) is what you earn in addition to your investment; it’s sometimes referred to as “pure” profit.  When we talk about AVERAGE daily profit (net interest) we are referring to the total net profit that you receive from an investment plan averaged out over the length of the plan.  Mathematically, this is the total net interest divided by the number of days in the plan.  The result, daily net interest, is what we in EmilyNews refer to as DNI.  This is a very important quantity as it is obvious that as an investment plan progresses, you are making ZERO profit until you break even.  After that, you are making PURE profit.  DNI averages this pure profit out over the length of the investment plan.  It should be clear that DNI is a neat way of looking at the profitability (and risk) of an investment plan.

OK, let’s begin by looking at Plan #1.  The total gross interest that you will earn from this plan will equal the daily gross interest of 3.5% times the 40-day length of the plan.  The result is 140%.  As we discussed above, this gross return includes your investment.  So, you must subtract 100% from this to get your total net interest which, in this case, will be 40%.  Finally, we get the DNI for the plan by dividing this by the 40-day length of the plan.  The result is exactly 1%.  Doing the same thing for the other two plans, you get the following:

Plan                       DNI

#1                           1.00%
#2                           1.65%
#3                           2.50%

In Part 2 of our review we’ll discuss these results, take a look at a few earnings examples, and try to draw some conclusions as to the strong and weak points of the Bittera investment program.  Please stand by.  Part 2 should be ready in a day or two…
