Octoincoin Exchange Rate to Dollars Changed from 1:1 to 100:1.
Octoin (reviewed here) just announced that, effective January 15, the exchange rate between octoincoin and US dollars has been increased from 1:1 to 100:1. That means you have to spend $100 to buy one octoincoin rather than $1. I don’t quite follow how all this works. I think it is explained in the two Octoin news releases that I have reprinted below. Unfortunately, some of the explanation is garbled due to poor English and some of it is camouflaged under Octoin promotional language. My problem is that I cannot understand how Octoin can set the price of octoincoin. Isn’t this set by supply and demand? If I write a book and set the price at $1,000 per copy and no one buys it, is it really worth $1,000? I might be way off on this. However, read what follows and make your own decision…
