News Commentary #148 — SmartLog First Thoughts and Deaths of HYIPs!

First Thoughts on SmartLog.

SmartLog is a new program and has only been online for a week or so.  Based on information in their website, this is a huge company.  They claim to be involved with the delivery of freight by land, sea, and air and say that every day SmartLog “delivers thousands of tons of cargo.”  So, this appears to be  a multi-million dollar company.  One cannot help but wonder why they would be interested in the small investments that the typical online investor is prepared to make.  However, this said, let’s take a look at the investment plans offered by SmartLog

Theoretically, there are four of them, one for each mode of transportation: Truck, Rail, Air, and Ocean.  However, it looks like only the first two of the plans are in operation now.  The plans differ from what you see in the typical HYIP as they appear to be connected to a specific delivery.  So, there is a specific time and date when the clock will start ticking for your investment.  In the process of writing this, the plan for the first mode of transportation, Truck, was just removed from the website (!) leaving only Rail.  I hope it is to correct some errors that exist in the description of the Truck plan.  I will not get into that now but will hope they are straightened out by the time we review the program.

Depending on the investment plan you choose, the interest rate, duration of the plan, and frequency of payments can vary.  Only some of this information is available on the website now and it follows:

Truck  (Payments every week. The deposit is included in weekly payments.)
Rail  (Daily payments. The deposit is paid at the end of the lot.)
Air  (Daily payments. The deposit is included in daily payments.)
Sea  (Payments at the end of the lot. The deposit is paid at the end of the lot.)

So, it appears that the investor has flexibility with respect to the frequency of earnings payments that the plans pay.

Concerning interest rates, it appears that — for an HYIP — they are quite low.  The published rate for the Rail plan is 0.30% per day.  Tentatively, it looks like the rate for the Truck plan is about the same.  However, as I just indicated, the write-up on this plan was just removed from the website.  So, this figure might be being altered.  But, at first glance, it appears that we are talking about low interest investment plans — hopefully with a high chance of long-term survival.

Stay tuned for a detailed analysis of the SmartLog investment plans which will be in our review of the program coming up in a few days.

Everyone is Dying!

The title of this article is to just to catch your eye!  But, seriously, during the summer season, the HYIP industry shifts into slow gear.  There are fewer stable programs available for the serious investor to consider and many programs — old and new (perhaps the UNstable ones?) — are closing or have been put on hold.  In just the past week, we have announced the closing of Ethtrade (please see News Commentary #147 here) and have placed FxLTD and Core+ on “Closed” status too. A week or two ago, Castle-Inv was closed.  So, there isn’t very much to choose from now.

This said, we would like to remind our readers that we at Emily News try hard to list only programs that we feel have a reasonable chance of being around for a while.  Of course, in this game, nothing is certain.  However, there are HYIPs “out there” that are so obviously nonsense that we will not defame our monitor by listing them.  This is one reason that you will not find too many programs listed on Emily News.  We do our best to provide quality rather than quantity.
