There are three players in the “HYIP Game:”

High Yield Investment Programs (HYIPs)
Investors
Monitors

HYIPs are companies that offer online investment plans that pay exceptionally high interest returns.  Each HYIP has a story — a “Legend” — that they tell concerning how they are able to generate the very high profits that they promise to pay their investors.  We know from experience that the lifecycle of the typical HYIP is very short.  Usually, this means that the Legend the company tells about itself is just that, a story with little, if any, factual basis.  Occasionally a company will come along that is the real thing.  However, they can easily fail too because of the high returns they promise.

The investors are you and I, the folks that deposit our hard-earned money into one or more of the investment plans offered by these HYIPs.  Our hope is that we can make a profit, hopefully a very large one, before the HYIP inevitably closes its doors.  HYIP investors try their best to determine beforehand what the probability for long-term survival of the HYIPs they invest in will be.

Monitors are groups like EmilyNews that serve as a bridge between the HYIP and the investor.  HYIPs pay the monitor a small fee in return for which the monitor lists the HYIP on its website.  Monitors will also generally make reviews of the HYIPs that they list.  Investors go to the monitor website to learn about HYIPs and, possibly, to sign up for one of them using links provided in the listing.  As the name implies, monitors provide news about the HYIPs that it lists, including warning signs if it appears that the program is about to close.

If you read between the lines on this, you will realize that monitors are in a very difficult position.  They earn a living from fees and commissions they receive from HYIPs.  Yet, their real customers are the investors that visit the monitor website.  Monitors would like to see a favorable review of their program that will attract investors to it whereas investors would like to know if there is something bad about an HYIP that might be a reason for steering clear of it.

At EmilyNews, we try hard to satisfy the interests of BOTH groups.  Our guiding principle is HONESTY.  The format of our reviews has changed as the months have gone by.  Now, in our “First Thoughts” article about an HYIP that we add to our monitor, we talk mostly about the “Legend” of the company and also say just a few words about its investment programs.  Since we know that most of these Legends are more fiction that fact, we no longer say that, for example, a company trades cryptocurrency; rather, we will say that a company “claims to” trade cryptocurrency.   Also, if a company states something that is a blatant lie, we will point out.  One lie that we reported on a while was a company that actually hired an actor to play the role of its CEO!  Fortunately, these falsehoods are rare occurrences and most Legends are plausible.

Our program reviews deal mostly with an analysis of the investment plans that an HYIP offers.  These two items — the company and its investment plans — are “the two most important things” that we feel an investor would like to know about for an HYIP.  A highlight of all our reviews is a discussion of the relationship of daily net interest (DNI) to both the profitability and survivability of an HYIP.  We at EmilyNews take pride in the fact that we have pioneered the use of this quantity as means for the investor to better understand the pros and cons of a company’s investment plans.  Quite frequently, an HYIP will camouflage the true profitability of its investment plans with a misleading presentation.  In our reviews we will ALWAYS see through that.  In fact, we feel that this type of deception is a form of lying which might, indeed, be a good reason to steer clear of such a program.

On a more positive note, we have suggested guidelines for HYIPs that we feel will make them relatively safe places to invest.  And, when we encounter such a program, we will certainly let our readers know.  Nothing is for sure, of course.  The point is that we do our best to point out the good and the bad in the programs that we list in our monitor — even though these programs are our source of income.  We hope that program admins will read our reviews and will learn from them what is required in order to get a favorable review from us.

A unique feature of EmilyNews is HYIP Insights articles such as this one.  As the name implies, the intent of these articles is to give the reader tidbits of information that will make him a more successful HYIP investor.  In this article, as well as in News Commentaries and reviews that we write, we attach links to certain words that lead to old HYIP Insights articles where the reader can get more detailed information on the subject being discussed.

To tie this up, we try to satisfy the desires of BOTH investors and HYIPs.  For investors, we provide an honest evaluation and up to date news for every program that is listed.  For the honest HYIP, that offers sensible investment plans, we can guarantee a favorable and informative review.  The whole idea is to make the entire HYIP business enjoyable and profitable for everyone concerned.  We all realize that it is a form of gambling where there will be winners and losers.  However, like going to a casino, we expect that the owner will treat his clients in a fair and honest way — and that some of them will even be big winners.  And everyone will have fun along the way!
