Discussion.

In Part 1 of this review of the Mindhome investment plans, we decided to focus on Plan #1.  This plan pays a “perpetual” interest of 6% on initial investments and 8% on earnings that are reinvested.  We found out that an initial investment in Plan #1 will break even in 17 days.  Since this is a perpetual investment plan, it is impossible to determine the average daily net interest (DNI) that it will pay you because the length of the plan is unknown.  Assuming different lengths for the plan (different survival times for the program), we determined the following values for DNI:

  • Assumed Length         DNI
  • 90 days                        4.89%
  • 180 days                      5.44%
  • 270 days                      5.63%
  • 360 days                      5.72%
  • 2 years                        5.86%
  • 3 years                        5.91%
  • 4 years                        5.93%
  • 5 years                        5.95%

We have already discussed the minimum investments required for the four Mindhome investment plans.  The fact that all of them except for Plan #1 are $5,000 or higher is the reason we decided to limit our discussion to Plan #1.

The most important factors in evaluating an HYIP are profitability and risk.  In a “perpetual” investment plan such as this, the longer the program survives, the higher your average daily profits (DNI) become.  The obvious reason for this is that, after you break even, everything that you earn is “pure profit.”  And, this can go one forever.  So, needless to say, the most important factor for investors in “perpetual” investment plans is the longevity of the program.  This is also important to the administrators of the program, but from the opposite point of view.  The longer the program survives, the larger its obligation to pay interest to its investors becomes.  The program gets no relief as in a conventional HYIP where, after the term of an investment plan ends, the obligation of the program to make interest payments also ends.

Aside from being a “perpetual” investment plan, we should not lose sight of the fact that Plan #1 is the best TYPE of investment plan in that you are recovering your investment on a day to day basis.  In terms of specific numbers, with a breakeven point of only 17 days (two and one-half weeks), this implies that you will recover half of your investment in only eight or nine days.  So, the risk of complete loss of a person’s investment is minimal.

Still looking at the numbers, the DNI for Plan #1 very quickly approaches 6%.  After only 90 days, it is nearly 5%.  Let’s use this latter more conservative value in our discussion of profitability and risk, keeping in mind that, if the program does turn out to be a long-term survivor, it will be a lot more profitable.

DNI is average daily profit.  Seven times this will therefore be average weekly profit.  So, for a DNI of 5%, we can very quickly reach a weekly profit in the neighborhood of 35%.  This is a remarkable level of profit.

Unfortunately, along with high profit comes high risk.  In the four-part article in HYIP Insights #12, we suggested that the survivability of programs offering investment plans having DNIs higher than 2% might be at risk.  I would add that the risk might even be greater for perpetual programs because of the situation discussed above.  Mindhome is definitely in this high-risk category of online investment programs.  Of course, we must note that this is only our “suggestion;” it is not an iron-clad rule.  In fact, we would love to have this suggestion be proven to be incorrect.  However, it should at least be taken as a word of caution…

“Perpetual” investment plans are the HYIP investor’s dream.  You make an investment once and then earn interest on it forever — the same as you do in a bank account, but at a much higher rate.  However, like any HYIP, everything depends on how long the program will survive.  This is influenced by the interest rates that are paid as well as on whether or not the program has viable sources of revenue to support it.  There is also the question of how well the administration of the program will oversee its operations.

Earnings Example.

Let’s assume an investment of $100 in Plan #1.  Every day you will receive a 6% return, or $6.  After 17 days, you will have received $102 and will have broken even.  Every day after that, until the program closes, you will continue to receive $6.  You can see that everything depends on longevity.

Conclusions.

Mindhome offers four “perpetual” investment plans for the online investor.  Probably only the first lowest interest plan will become popular.  The plan enables a person to recover his investment very quickly and there is the potential for very high profits, the level of profit being proportional to how long the program survives.  The interest that the investment plan pays is high which, inherently, will make this a risky investment.  This program will appeal to the investor who is willing to risk his investment for a few weeks in hopes of high profits that could last for a long long time.

I hope this information is helpful.
