{"id":54997,"date":"2026-03-02T04:06:49","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T04:06:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emilynews.com\/blog\/?p=54997"},"modified":"2026-03-02T04:06:51","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T04:06:51","slug":"bitcoin-undervalued-relative-to-gold-signals-potential-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emilynews.com\/blog\/?p=54997","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin undervalued relative to gold signals potential rally?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gold has become &#8220;overextended&#8221; after climbing to more than $5,247 per ounce, according to Jan3 CEO and Bitcoin advocate Samson Mow.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin is relatively undervalued compared to gold and the global money supply, which could signal a price reversal, according to Samson Mow, the CEO of Bitcoin technology company Jan3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBitcoin is about 24%-66% below its trend relative to gold&#8217;s market cap or global money supply, while gold is overextended,\u201d Mow said in a Saturday post on X.<\/p>\n<p>Gold futures for April delivery closed Friday at $5,247.90; Tokenized gold PAX Gold USD was trading at the time of writing at $5,404.14.<\/p>\n<p>Mow also cited Bitcoin\u2019s Z-score, a metric that tracks how close the price of BTC is to its historic average. A Z-score of 0 indicates that the price is in line with the average, while a Z-score above 0 indicates that the price is moving above average levels.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2026-03\/019caa96-a90e-7dc5-a9f3-2cd5369110a1.png\" alt=\"Gold, Bitcoin Price, Samson Mow\" data-ct-img-zoomable=\"\" \/><figcaption><em>The Z score of the Bitcoin-to-gold ratio. When the Z score of the Bitcoin-to-gold ratio drops below -2, Bitcoin has experienced \u201cmajor\u201d price rallies, Mow said.
