Key BTC metric undercuts 2022 low<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>For onchain analytics platform CryptoQuant, spot price trading below the realized price of investors holding BTC between 12 and 18 months was the writing on the wall.<\/p>\n<p>Realized price refers to the aggregate cost basis at which their BTC last moved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHistorically, when price breaks and sustains below this cost basis, market behavior transitions from normal corrections into structural bearish regimes, not short-term pullbacks,\u201d contributor Crazzyblockk warned in a \u201cQuicktake\u201d blog post.<\/p>\n<p>Realized price itself, the research noted, was stable \u2014 something \u201creinforcing its role as overhead resistance.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen spot price remains below a flat or rising realized cost, rallies tend to fail as supply seeks breakeven exits,\u201d Crazzyblockk added.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><p>\u201cFrom a cycle perspective, the combination of price below realized cost, negative unrealized profitability, and slowing balance growth has historically aligned with extended bearish phases.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2026-02\/019c19b6-84eb-7e88-9b0f-3b451abd9d80.png\" alt=\"\" data-ct-img-zoomable=\"\" \/><figcaption><em>BTC\/USD chart with one-year hodler realized price (screenshot).
