{"id":53750,"date":"2025-08-18T04:15:03","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T04:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/emilynews.com\/blog\/?p=53750"},"modified":"2025-08-18T04:15:04","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T04:15:04","slug":"bitcoin-risks-new-2025-correction-as-btc-price-uptrend-starts-7th-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/emilynews.com\/blog\/?p=53750","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin risks new 2025 correction as BTC price uptrend starts 7th week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bitcoin is almost overdue for another &#8220;price discovery correction&#8221; after six weeks of gains \u2014 will BTC price action copy history?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key points:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Bitcoin has enjoyed six weeks of its latest \u201cprice discovery uptrend\u201d \u2014 but a correction is now due.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">Analysis shows that in previous halving cycles, BTC price tends to halt its second uptrend after five to seven weeks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\">A new dip now would still allow fresh all-time highs in Q4.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bitcoin may start the last week of its latest \u201cprice discovery uptrend\u201d on Monday with the price stuck below $120,000.<\/p>\n<p>New findings released Sunday by popular trader and analyst Rekt Capital show that BTC price is running out of time to make new highs.<\/p>\n<h2>Bitcoin hits classic \u201cprice discovery correction\u201d zone<\/h2>\n<p>Bitcoin risks keeping its recent $124,500 all-time high in place \u2014 if it follows historical patterns.<\/p>\n<p>Updating X followers on bull market progress, Rekt Capital noted that Bitcoin is about to start the seventh week of its second \u201cprice discovery uptrend\u201d since its 2024 halving.<\/p>\n<p>After each halving event, the subsequent bull market contains a succession of such uptrends, each accompanied by a correction. The timing of each phase throughout Bitcoin\u2019s lifespan has been roughly similar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHistorically, Bitcoin Price Discovery Uptrend 1 tends to end between Week 6 &amp; 8 of its uptrend. Whereas in Price Discovery Uptrend 2, Bitcoin tends to end its uptrend between Week 5 &amp; 7,\u201d Rekt Capital summarized.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><p>\u201cWeek 7 of Price Discovery Uptrend 2 begins tomorrow.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-08\/0198b8f8-d518-748c-b2b5-fa49e333c9ec\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption><em>BTC\/USD one-week chart. Source: Rekt Capital\/X<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A linked chart from earlier in the year shows a potential upside target for the second uptrend at just below $160,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if we think critically about previous Price Discovery Corrections across the cycles&#8230; Then only one of them started in Week 8 (2017), one of them started in Week 6 (2021) and and two of them started in Week 7 (2013 and 2025),\u201d a newsletter on the topic observed in July.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, Bitcoin\u2019s first corrective phase took the price from near $110,000 to under $75,000 \u2014 a roughly 30% drawdown not uncommon in previous halving cycles.<\/p>\n<h2>New BTC price all-time high in Q4?<\/h2>\n<p>Continuing, fellow trader Daan Crypto Trades noted that BTC\/USD has not yet delivered a \u201cgreen\u201d August and September back-to-back.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>Ether unstaking queue hits $3.8B: What does it mean for ETH price?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>However, a dip could form the pretext for a larger cycle top to come toward the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe tend to see a quick flush followed by an explosive Q4 in most of the bull market years,\u201d part of an X post stated Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote data-ct-non-breakable=\"undefined\"><p>\u201cAny larger flushes in the next 1-2 months would be welcomed and could very well be the last larger dip for the Q4 end of the year rally which we see so often. If not, that&#8217;s fine too but I think it would pull forward a bigger high timeframe top as well.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2025-08\/0198b8f9-d617-7c16-9c7d-8a5b09f83c15\" alt=\"\" \/><figcaption><em>BTC\/USD monthly returns (screenshot).
