Conference in Marabahan on February 23.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Octoin<\/a> (reviewed here<\/a>) just announced today, February 21, that a conference will be held in Marabahan, Indonesia, on February 23.\u00a0 Is there something wrong with this announcement?\u00a0 Of course!\u00a0 The same thing is wrong with it as has been wrong with many other conference announcements on the Octoin <\/a>Website.\u00a0 If I were a fan of Octoin <\/a>and lived in Indonesia, I would be very interested in attending one or more of their conferences.\u00a0 However, I WOULD NEED MORE THAN A DAY OR TWO OF ADVANCE NOTICE IN ORDER TO ARRANGE MY SCHEDULE SUCH THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO ATTEND!\u00a0 This announcement gives TWO day\u2019s notice of the conference.\u00a0 I have seen other conference announcements posted with only ONE day\u2019s notice.\u00a0 For example, on February 18, an announcement was made of an upcoming conference to be held in Solo, Indonesia, on February 19!\u00a0 Do the organizers of these conferences expect people to drop everything they are doing in order to attend a conference?\u00a0 This doesn\u2019t make any sense to me at all.\u00a0 If I want good attendance at a conference I have organized, I would be sure to announce it a number of WEEKS in advance.\u00a0 But, maybe this is the way things are done in Indonesia?<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the announcement — for those of you that can drop everything in order to attend!<\/p>\n

The marathon of conferences in Indonesia continues – on February 23 an event will take place in Marabahan at 14:30 – 17:30 UTC + 08 at the Prima Hotel Batola (jl.Basuki Rahmad, Marabahan, Kalimantan Tengah, Indonesia).<\/p>\n
