Octoin Gives in and Restores P2P.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In our last News Commentary<\/em> (#320)<\/em><\/a> about Oction<\/a>, we expressed our opinion that it had disabled the p2p exchange on its website in an effort to prevent its members from trading their Octoincoins for other cryptocurrencies or, heaven forbid, from cashing them in for dollars for whatever they can get.\u00a0 Well, per a recent news release from Octoin<\/a>, it looks like many other folks felt the same way and that, as a result, Octoin <\/a>received many requests to reactivate the p2p exchange.\u00a0 To its credit, Octoin <\/a>has done this — which at least partially restores my confidence in the company.\u00a0 Now it will be interesting to see what happens.\u00a0 Will folks hang onto their Octoincoins like Oction <\/a>would like or will they try to \u201cunload\u201d them for whatever they can get.\u00a0 I confess that I am only partially familiar with the workings of the p2p exchange.\u00a0 In the coming days I will try to learn the details of how it works and will try to report back to you on what Octoincoin is being traded for.\u00a0 If you have already used the Octoin<\/a> p2p exchange, we would welcome some feedback from you on whether folks are trading their Octoincoins and, if so, for what and for how much.<\/p>\n
