Twitter Accepts Elon Musk’s $54.20-a-Share Buyout Offer<\/p>\n

<\/b>Twitter (TWTR) has accepted a $54.20-a-share buyout offer from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, valuing the social media company at about $44 billion in cash, according to a press release. Once the deal is completed, Twitter will become a privately held company.<\/p>\n

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk said in a statement. “I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans.”<\/p>\n

Bret Taylor, Twitter’s independent board chair, said, “The Twitter Board conducted a thoughtful and comprehensive process to assess Elon’s proposal with a deliberate focus on value, certainty and financing.<\/p><\/div>\n

Australia\u2019s first 3 crypto ETFs all miss launch day<\/p>\n

<\/b>The launch of Australia\u2019s first three Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) exchange-traded funds (ETF) scheduled for today, has been delayed as a result of further \u201cchecks\u201d needing to be completed.<\/p>\n

The exchange listing the Bitcoin Spot ETF from Cosmos Asset Management, Cboe Australia, released a statement late Tuesday stating that \u201cstandard checks prior to the commencement of trading are still being completed\u201d and a \u201cfurther update will be provided in the coming days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cboe issued the same notice regarding two spot ETFs issued by 21Shares also scheduled for launch today, a Bitcoin ETF and an Ethereum ETF.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear why the products are delayed with the Australian Financial Review reporting that a \u201cservice provider downstream\u201d \u2014 an entity such as a prime broker or major institution with the power to delay listings until it’s ready to support the trade of the products \u2014 could be to blame for the hold up.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
