Investment Advice from Biostry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Biostry<\/a> (reviewed here<\/a>) just published a brief news release emphasizing that anyone who invests with them makes money in TWO ways. First, Biostry<\/a> functions like a normal HYIP and you can earn money from them by means of the two investment plans that it offers. The second way you can earn money from Biostry<\/a> is more subtle — and this is what their release is all about. All financial transactions with Biostry<\/a> are in BitCoin. So, let\u2019s suppose that you made an investment of one BitCoin a month or so ago with Biostry<\/a> when one Bitcoin was worth, say, around $5,000. Now its value just hit $6,000. The point is that your investment of $5,000 magically became an investment of $6,000. That\u2019s pretty neat. So, you win in two ways: by the normal HYIP earnings and by the increasing value of BitCoin. Of course, the value of BitCoin might decrease! Then it would be the opposite case with earnings from the HYIP being offset by losses in value of BitCoin. Right now, investors with Biostry<\/a> have a good thing going. We Made a Mistake.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In our News Commentary #188<\/em> (that you can read here<\/a>), where I commented on the new short-term investment plan being offered by Biostry<\/a>, I made an error in computing the DNI (daily net interest) for the plan. This plan is seven days long but only pays 2.4% daily interest on workdays — Monday thru Friday. I had incorrectly assumed that interest is paid on all of the seven days. However, the announcement from Biostry<\/a> clearly states:<\/p>\n

New Plan Details:
\nMin. Investment – 0.01 BTC
\nReturns – 2.4% Daily (Mon to Fri)
\nFor 7 Days
\n+ Principal Return After 7 Days<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

First, remember that the 2.4% that you earn for five days is PROFIT — assuming the program survives to completion and you get your principal back. This total net interest (profit) is therefore five times the 2.4% or 12%. Dividing this by the seven-day length of the plan, we get an effective daily net interest (DNI) of 1.71%. This is lower than the DNI of 2% that you get assuming you earn interest on all of the seven days.<\/p>\n

The importance of this for the investor is that the lower DNI improves the survivability of the investment plan and, therefore, of the program as well. When the DNI of an investment plan starts to get in the neighborhood of 2% (that\u2019s 14% per week!), you have to worry about the program closing prematurely.<\/p>\n

I hope this change makes sense to you and that it might even be good news\u2026<\/p>\n
