Conference in Marabahan on February 23.
Octoin (reviewed here) just announced today, February 21, that a conference will be held in Marabahan, Indonesia, on February 23. Is there something wrong with this announcement? Of course! The same thing is wrong with it as has been wrong with many other conference announcements on the Octoin Website. If I were a fan of Octoin and lived in Indonesia, I would be very interested in attending one or more of their conferences. However, I WOULD NEED MORE THAN A DAY OR TWO OF ADVANCE NOTICE IN ORDER TO ARRANGE MY SCHEDULE SUCH THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO ATTEND! This announcement gives TWO day’s notice of the conference. I have seen other conference announcements posted with only ONE day’s notice. For example, on February 18, an announcement was made of an upcoming conference to be held in Solo, Indonesia, on February 19! Do the organizers of these conferences expect people to drop everything they are doing in order to attend a conference? This doesn’t make any sense to me at all. If I want good attendance at a conference I have organized, I would be sure to announce it a number of WEEKS in advance. But, maybe this is the way things are done in Indonesia?

The marathon of conferences in Indonesia continues – on February 23 an event will take place in Marabahan at 14:30 – 17:30 UTC + 08 at the Prima Hotel Batola (jl.Basuki Rahmad, Marabahan, Kalimantan Tengah, Indonesia).
